Fun, Family & Food
We have had a little time off with the family to recharge our batteries. Easter weekend was full of family fun & food at the Chester Food Festival
If you have never been to the food festival you really are missing out! We have been going for the last 4 year & it is a great alternative to the usual VW show.
We camp on the race course from Thursday evening until Monday afternoon. There are organised events for the children, including an egg hunt on the Sunday. Saturday is the first day of the food festival, it has a great atmosphere with plenty to see & do. You can find food from all around the world, stalls full of fresh produce from amazing artisans including breads, cheeses, gins, cakes & so much more. This year the gadgets were amazing and we might have bought one or two for the van. To top it all off there is some amazing cooking demonstrations by famous chiefs, perfect for an afternoon without the children.
Cooking up a Storm
Every year our budding young master chefs take part in the free cooking lessons. They have made some amazing dishes & this year their biryani was hot hot hot. Ella loved being able to cook by herself this year as she is tall enough to stand at the table & Ewan was a good big brother helping her out.
This year the food festival had adult cooking classes & finally mum (Joanne) got to have some time out & attend a class.
What an amazing time, you learn something new every day & this recipe will be on the menu in our house for some time to come, Lamb Kofta & Bulgur Wheat Salad.
Amazing Weekend
All in all we had an amazing weekend, a trip into Chester, cocktails, good food, friends & family.
We hope that you had a fun packed bank holiday weekend & that you got out in your camper vans.
